Reading Challenges & Book Clubs

We offer plenty of opportunities for readers to socialize, try new things, and turn their reading into something more!

Book Clubs - The Parma Library currently hosts five book clubs for readers of all tastes and interests! Bestsellers, Non-fiction, Only Murders in the Library (Mystery), Sweet & Spicy (Romance), and So Little Time and Tots (meeting at Mamaste Cafe) all meet regularly Check out our calendar to learn more about joining a book club!

Annual Reading Challenge - Our annual reading challenge is open to participate in at any point throughout the year! Complete as many prompts as you would like and return to the library for a free book and bookmark!

Summer Reading - Who doesn't like to soak up the sun with a good book or a few ideas for fun activities! Every summer we offer an adult summer reading program that includes a punch card, prizes, and raffle for a Liftbridge gift card.

The library offers a series of passes that help get you specialized access to fun and interesting places across Monroe County at free or reduced rates!

VIP Pass - The Monroe County Library System’s Very Important Places (V.I.P.) pass provides a substantial discount to enjoy the best of Rochester and Monroe County’s arts and cultural treasures. Click here to learn more!

Empire Pass - The Monroe County Library System is proud to offer Empire Passes for New York State Parks, which allows users to borrow free admission passes to hundreds of New York State Parks.  Find out more about Empire Passes here.

RRLC Access Pass - Are you interested in getting access to even MORE local libraries? The RRLC Access Pass is a direct borrowing program that enables library users to access materials at libraries for which they cannot access a card. Notary Services

Did you know the Parma Public Library offers notary services? With drop-in hours on Mondays and Fridays (be sure to check our calendar for the most up to date information) we can help you arrange, print, and notarize documents all in one place!

Some things to remember:

• Please be sure not to sign your document in advance. 

• Have your photo ID with you.

• If your document requires witnesses, bring along someone who knows you.

Extension Services

Through its member in the Monroe County Library System (MCLS), the Parma Library is able to connect you to even more services than we are able to offer on-site. Check out some of these extension services below!

Outreach - The MCLS Outreach Department brings library resources to under-served members of our community through programs and services. Whether individuals are in their homes, skilled nursing facilities, rehab centers, or institutionalized settings, we deliver the library experience. Local History & Genealogy - MCLS holds a wealth of local history information available for research. Various collections include circulating and reference books, atlases, family histories, genealogies, periodicals, government imprints, and pamphlets.
